June 12 - 24
A powerful portrait of life in turn-of-the-century America, based on E.L. Doctorow's distinguished novel, and full of show-stopping songs.  The musical intertwines the stories of three extraordinary families, as they confront history's timeless contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair, and what it means to live in America. Called by Time Magazine "A triumph for the stage," and by the International Herald Tribune "the best musical in twenty years," this acclaimed musical won two Tony Awards in 1998.

June 26 - July 15
Rodgers & Hammerstein's first collaboration remains, in many ways, their most innovative, having set the standards and established the rules of musical theatre still being followed today. Set in a Western Indian territory just after the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background  for one of America's most beloved musicals!

Awesome News for the Sunapee Region!!

A NEW ADVENTURE PARK AT MOUNT SUNAPEE RESORT WILL OFFER AN ARRAY OF SUMMER ACTIVITIES PROVIDING CHALLENGE AND FUN

This summer Mount Sunapee Resort will become a destination for family fun and adventure, just like during the winter season.  A new Adventure Park will be opening in June at Mount Sunapee that will include guided Canopy Zip Line Tours, a Treetop Obstacle Course, Off-Road Segway Excursions and a Disc Golf Course. The Clipper Ship quad chairlift will be operating up South Peak offering beautiful views of the mountains and servicing some of these activities.

The Canopy Zip Line Tour, constructed by Phoenix Experiential Designs, will be a 2 ½ hour guided tour that will include eight zip lines up to 1,000 ft. long, rope bridges and rappelling as guests descend South Peak.  Groups of up to eight will be led by two guides.  Guests must be 10 years old and between 70 and 250 pounds to take the Canopy Zip Line Tour.  In the Treetop Obstacle Course adventurers ages 5 and up will be harnessed into a self-guided series of obstacles which wind their way through the trees on the lower slopes of South Peak.  The course will feature a beginner loop for small children and an intermediate loop with guides along the way for support.  Guided Segway Excursions will wind through the base area of the resort.  Guests will be given a complete orientation before taking off for an hour-long tour on a Segway equipped with special off-road tires.  An 18-hole Disc Golf Course will follow Province trail in and out of the woods as it winds down South Peak.  Discs designed especially for Disc Golf will be available for rent.

“Our goal is to create an Adventure Park that fits the natural character of Mount Sunapee”, said Jay Gamble, Mount Sunapee general manager.  “We wanted the same brand values as we have in our winter activities: challenge, excitement, discovery, family fun and quality guest service in a natural and healthy environment.”

The Adventure Park will be open daily from late June through Labor Day and then weekends through Columbus Day weekend.  The Treetop Obstacle Course is scheduled to open mid-July. South Peak’s sunny southern exposure will allow the Canopy Zip Line Tour to operate weekends and holidays throughout the winter season.  Plus, the last two dual 1,000 ft. zip lines on the Canopy Zip Line Tour will be available as a separate activity during the winter without taking the whole tour.

During the summer a miniature golf course, an interpretive hiking trail and family oriented mountain bike trails will be under construction, which will be added to the Adventure Park for the 2013 summer season.

The Learning Center building at the base of South Peak will be the center of operations for the Adventure Park.  Here guests will register and receive orientations for the Canopy Zip Line Tour, Segway Excursions and the Treetop Obstacle Course.  Food and beverage will be available at the Learning Center.  Advance reservations will be required for the Canopy Zip Line Tour and the Segway Excursions.
