Eat, Drink and Be Merry! Fireside Chat, Superb Soup, and Sunday Ice Cutting Day - January 22

After you enjoy a day of skiing, snowshoeing or walking the lake, enjoy a very special evening here at the Follansbee.  Visiting Chef Aylene Lambert will show the secrets to making superb vegetarian soup, all while you cozy 'round our pub fireplace, enjoying appetizers and drinks.  Then experience a divine meal of homemade soup, bread & dessert prepared by Chef Aylene. Chef Aylene Lambert is visiting us from New York City, where she recently completed her chef training at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts.  She rounded out her training with internships at the top vegetarian restaurants in the country, where she learned how to showcase fresh produce and highlight seasonal ingredients from the local farmer’s market.  Aylene will be sharing her award-winning Sweet and Spicy Carrot Bisque, which will be featured in the January 2011 issue of Vegetarian Times.   Aylene and her husband Russ, who will be assisting the class, are big fans of the Follansbee and are thrilled to be a part of the Fireside Chats. For you, it is compliments of the house with your regular room reservation.   Recipes included for you to take home.

January 23 - On Sunday morning,  you can go outside and help with the Musterfield Farm Ice Cutting on the lake--an experience not to be missed.  Our "regulars" return for this one year after year, and we're inviting you make this one of your winter traditions!
